Quick Summary: Vindale Research is an online market research company offering users a number of ways to get paid for completing simple tasks online including surveys, watching videos, refer friends, and receive promotional emails, all in exchange for cash.
What is Vindale Research?
Vindale Research is an online market research company that was founded in 2006. Since its founding, it has expanded into the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. It was acquired by Reimagine Holdings Group for an undisclosed amount in 2018. Reimagine Holdings was then acquired by a company called Dynata a year later.
Vindale Research offers users a number of ways to get paid for completing simple tasks online. You can take surveys, watch videos, refer friends, and receive promotional emails, all in exchange for cash.
How Does Vindale Research Work?
Getting signed up with Vindale Research is easy. It’s completely free to sign up, so you don’t need to worry about shelling out any cash to become a member.
After clicking “Sign Up” on the site’s front page, you’ll be taken to a page where you’ll enter some basic personal info like your name, age, and date of birth. You’ll be sent an email that contains an activation link you’ll need to click.
It’s unlikely, but in the event you need customer service, Vindale Research offers a Zendesk-supported customer service desk you can call. They also offer email customer support in case you run into trouble activating your account.
Once you’ve signed up for an account, you can begin earning money. As we indicated above, you can take surveys, refer friends to the service, watch paid videos, receive promotional emails, and more. (Continue reading below for more detailed info about these options.)
How Can You Make Money with Vindale Research?
Answering surveys isn’t the only way you can make money with Vindale Research. There are a couple of other options.
Of course, taking surveys is the primary way you’ll earn on Vindale. Most of these surveys take between five to fifteen minutes to complete. Surveys of this length typically pay between $0.50 and $2.00 per questionnaire. Most of them are about consumer behavior and preferences. For example, you may be asked what kinds of travel services you use, or which fast-food restaurants you prefer.
You should note that the five to fifteen minutes we’ve quoted above do not include the time it takes to find a survey you qualify for. This is because, like many survey sites, there are a ton of surveys you simply won’t qualify for. You may be too young, too old, live in the wrong state, or make too much or too little money.
As a result, many of the surveys you click on won’t actually accept you. This can make it take a lot longer to actually complete a survey. Happily, Vindale Research makes this process easier by using your answers from a completed survey to help you find another survey you’ll probably qualify for. This can be a HUGE timesaver.
There’s even a Google Chrome extension to help you find surveys you qualify for.
By default, you’ll get an email when there are surveys available for you to complete. You can set how often you receive these emails and how many you want to receive in the Vindale Research settings. We prefer to get about one per day, since Vindale Research works best when you put in a little bit of time each day to take advantage of any available opportunities.
Vindale Research’s referral program is super simple. For every person you refer to the service who actually becomes active on the site, you’ll earn $5. Easy peasy. This can actually become lucrative for some users, especially for people who have access to a large audience in the form of a blog, YouTube channel, Instagram following, or something similar.
The Reward Mail program will send you paid promotional emails that you’ll earn money for opening and clicking on. You won’t earn a terribly large amount for each email you open or for each link you click, but you’ll be able to supplement that with what you earn from surveys.
Vindale Videos are short ads, usually lasting less than one minute, that you get paid to watch. You’ll typically earn about $0.05 per video.
Of all the options available on the site, we found this to be the least attractive one. Five cents per video is simply not enough to justify spending your time clicking through paid ads. We’d much rather complete a survey or refer a friend to the service and make a little bit more money.
Understanding the Vindale Research Rewards System
After creating an account and logging in, you’ll begin to earn rewards as you complete the tasks set out by the site. It’s a simple system. You’ll earn rewards points as you complete rewarded activities, like taking surveys, watching videos, or receiving Reward Mail. (Check out the previous section for more details on how to earn rewards points.)
Once you’ve earned at least $50 in rewards points, you can elect to be paid out in the form of a check or a PayPal deposit.
You should know that the payout threshold from Vindale Research is significantly higher than many of the other reputable survey sites mentioned in this article. That may or may not be a problem for you. On the one hand, you’ll be guaranteed a significant amount of money every time you receive a payout. On the other hand, you may have to wait significant amounts of time between payouts.
The real risk with the high payout threshold is that you could lose interest in the site while having built up a less-than-$50 amount on Vindale. You’ll then be out that money unless you’re willing to continue earning rewards until you hit the $50 mark.
Pro Tips to Make the Most Money with Vindale Research
There are a few ways you can really maximize your time on Vindale Research. We strongly recommend you do the following:
- Focus on getting through the surveys as quickly as possible (and answer honestly). You won’t make a lot of money if it takes you a full hour to complete a $0.50 survey. Instead, focus up and power through.
- Use multiple avenues for earning income. In particular, refer friends to the site whenever you can. It’s essentially passive income, especially if you have a blog or Youtube channel.
- Don’t replace a higher-income earning option with Vindale Research. This is truly a side-gig activity. Don’t make it your full-time job.
If you take that advice into account, we’re confident you’ll have a good time using Vindale Research.
Things to Consider
You’ll want to keep a few things in mind while you’re using Vindale Research.
Who is Vindale Research Best For?
Vindale Research is best for people who are already employed and have a little bit of unpaid downtime. In other words, this is best for people who would otherwise spend their time in the evening on the couch and watching Netflix. That kind of person can monetize their downtime and earn a little bit of extra cash.
Who Should Avoid Vindale Research?
Anyone who has access to a higher-paying side gig or full-time work should avoid Vindale Research. If you can make more money elsewhere, give Vindale Research a pass.
Vindale Research Alternatives
There are a ton of alternatives to Vindale Research. Here are just a few.
Branded Surveys is a survey site much like Vindale Research. However, there are a few key differences.
First, it uses a tiered rewards system to award points for completing surveys. The ultimate goal is to reach the “Gold” tier, which awards the highest point rates for completing tasks on the site.
Second, the payout threshold on this site is only $10 (or 1,000 points). They also offer gift card options if you don’t feel like taking a PayPal deposit or check. Read our full Branded Surveys review to learn more.
Survey Junkie is a survey site with a few extra features that set it apart. You can earn bonus points for completing a few simple tasks when you first sign up on the site. You can also access an online browser extension that tracks your online activity in exchange for points on the site.
Some people may find this last feature creepy, while others may welcome the extra cash. Check out our full Survey Junkie review to learn more.
With MyPoints You can earn airline miles on this site in exchange for your rewards points. And that’s in addition to PayPal deposit, check, and gift card options. You can also use the site’s built-in Yahoo!-powered search engine to earn extra rewards points. Read our full MyPoints review to learn more.

Vindale Research FAQ
We’ve received a ton of questions about Vindale Research in the past few months, so we thought we’d post the most common questions here in this article. There’s a good chance you’ll find the answer to your question here.
How Do You Get Paid by Vindale Research?
You get paid by Vindale Research by check or via PayPal. They don’t offer gift cards or air miles payouts.
You can typically expect to be paid within about five business days after you request a withdrawal of your money.
Remember that you’ll need to have accumulated at least $50 in rewards before you can request a payment. It can take a little while to hit that amount, so you may need some patience. If you need money right now, this may not be the best service for you. Other survey websites offer much lower payment thresholds.
Is Vindale Research Legit?
Yes. We can confidently say that Vindale Research is 100% legit. They pay what they promise to pay, on time, every time.
If you’re suspicious or not totally at ease with giving the company your personal information, we’ll point out the fact that this firm has been in business, in one form or another, since about 2006. They’ve been doing business for 14 years. You don’t hit that kind of longevity by scamming your users out of what’s rightfully theirs.
How Much Money Can I Make with Vindale Research?
You can expect to earn a relatively modest amount of money from Vindale Research. Expert survey takers who qualify for a lot of surveys might earn $8 to $10 per hour. If you can refer a lot of friends, your earnings will increase. A more typical rate to earn would be about $5 an hour. It doesn’t sound like much, but it sure beats the $0 per hour you’ll earn watching YouTube.
How Does Vindale Research Make Money?
Vindale Research makes money by charging companies for the data they collect from people like you. They’re a market research company. Company X, looking for data about consumers, pays Vindale Research for that data. Vindale Research keeps a portion of that money for themselves and passes on a portion to the people who take surveys (you!).
When everything’s said and done, Vindale Research does exactly what it promises to do. It pays modest amounts of money in exchange for your answers to questions on relatively short surveys. You won’t get rich on this site, but you’ll definitely make more than you can just sitting on the couch.
